High swap usage since upgrade to 5.8.5

Sunday, July 13, 2014

Affects:

Switchvox SMB 5.8.5

We are investigating reports regarding high swap usage after updating to 5.8.5. The behavior is that server information will show memory is over threshold.  The PBX may become unresponsive, forcing a reboot. The behavior reportedly returns after a short period of one to two weeks. This is more likely to affect prior-generation appliances (65, 305, 355).

If you are experiencing any similar issues after updating to 5.8.5, please contact Technical Support.  A temporary fix is available which does not require a restart of the PBX.  Keep in the mind that this fix provides temporary help and will prevent the need for a system reboot.  The fix, however, must be run at regular intervals - determined by the load on your system - to stabilize the load and prevent a system reboot.  It is not a one-time fix to the problem.  The fix also will drop calls so it must be run at a time when the PBX is idle.

For those who are affected, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.  Engineering is working on a quick resolution.

Modifying existing Time Frames can remove existing Time Frame Conditions

Saturday, June 7, 2014

Under certain circumstances, Time Frames Conditions are inadvertently removed.    The problem presents itself when modifying an existing Time Frame.  Adding a new Time Frame Condition without specifying an End Time causes prior Time Frame Conditions to be removed.  The expected behavior is that you will be prompted to specify an End Time before allowing any modifications.  Instead this results in deleting previous Time Frame Condition(s).  We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.  The problem will be fixed in the near future.
